Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood is located in midtown Indianapolis.  The neighborhood is named after Butler University which it’s built around as well as the Pulitzer Prize winning author Booth Tarkington who previously lived in the neighborhood.

Neighborhood housing include beautiful vintage homes built between the 1890s and 1945. The residential architecture is stunning while higher end homes can be found in the neighborhood’s northern portion.

Being that Butler University resides in the neighborhood, the area gives a small town college vibe and you can also find a few commercial corridors as well giving you options to eat or drink.

Be sure to catch a Butler Men’s Basketball game at Hinkle Fieldhouse while you’re there or take a walk down the Central Canal Towpath which runs past Butler University.
