The Indiana Ave and Ransom Place neighborhoods are located in the northwest area of Downtown Indianapolis.  It is home to IUPUI and has easy access to the Canal Walk and White River.

This area is widely known for it’s African-American heritage and history.  Ransom Place was the first African-American neighborhood to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places.  Many prominent historical figures have roots on Indiana Ave including Madam C.J. Walker. She was an american entrepreneur known for being the first ever female self-made millionaire.  Jazz greats Freddie Hubbard, Jimmy Coe Noble Sissle, Erroll “Groundhog” Grandy and Wes Montgomery also have ties to the area.

Residents enjoy the close proximity to the Canal and White River while having the Cultural Trail run by Ransom Place.   The Madam Walker Theatre also resides on Indiana Ave which hosts public events throughout the year.

Housing consists of single family houses, town homes and condos.  Pricing ranges vary offering affordable prices to more expensive higher end homes.
